How to join Sterling
Here's How You Can Join Sterling United FCU's Community-Chartered Credit Union:
- If you live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in Vanderburgh or Warrick County, Indiana
- Your immediate* family member is a current member of Sterling United FCU or meets the above criteria, you qualify
- If you live in the same household as a current member who is not necessarily a family member
Just make a minimum savings deposit of $5 as your "ownership" in the credit union. Joining is that simple.
Once you join Sterling, you're always a member. Even if you move outside of Vanderburgh or Warrick County, if you maintain $5 in your share savings, you will remain a member for life.
Your Family Members Can Join Too
Share the benefits of credit union membership with your family. Once you're a member, your immediate* family members, such as children, parents, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren and step relatives, can join.
Why Should I Choose Credit Union Membership?
If you aren't familiar with credit unions, you will find a credit union offers many unique benefits over banks or other financial institutions. As a credit union, we're owned and operated by our members. Our members elect fellow members to serve on the Board of Directors, who in turn elect officers to manage the business and operation of the credit union.
Because we're owned and operated by members, our main focus is our members. We have no outside stockholders – so all net earnings are returned to members in the form of dividends and lower cost services.
